Dr. Daria N. Valentine, C’2000 currently serves as the Principal of Greenbelt Middle School. A 20-year veteran of Prince George’s County Public Schools, Daria has served in a variety of leadership capacities. She is most proud of her time as Assistant Principal successfully graduating the class of 2017 with a 6% graduation rate increase from the previous class year and considerably increasing the number of students accepted and attending college from the previous class year.

Daria earned a Bachelor of Science from Spelman College in 2000, Master’s of Education in Curriculum and Instruction from the National Louis University and a Doctorate in Education Administration from The George Washington University, dissertation publication titled “How Parents Make School Choice Decisions”.

Daria is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc., initiated in the Iota Gamma Omega Chapter where she is the former HBCU for Life Chairman. Dr. Valentine is the proud wife of Curtis C. Valentine and proud mother of Curtis and Ivy Valentine. Daria has served the National Alumnae Association of Spelman College in a variety of capacities. She is the former National Assistant Corresponding Secretary, NE Region Secretary, and President of the Southern, MD Chapter, recruiting prospective Spelman College students, and raising over $20,000 in scholarships for current students as the HBCU Bus Tour Chairman.

As a proud Life member of the NAASC, Dr. Daria N. Valentine looks forward to serving as President-Elect where she will ensure that the National Alumnae Association of Spelman College keeps Alumnae: Informed through transparent leadership and fiscal practices, Involved by connecting alumnae with local chapters to foster sisterhood and service and Invested in the future of our beloved institution by recruiting the best and brightest and mentoring undergraduates to establish consistent alumnae engagement and a culture of annual giving
